The Rumson Education Foundation (REF), a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, was founded over 17years ago by a group of dedicated parents who wished to enhance our children's education by raising funds to supplement the curriculum in ways the school budget could not. Teachers, administrators, parents, and students have been invited to participate in an annual grant process, in which proposals for various items, teacher training, technology, etc. are considered for funding. Over 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS has been raised by the Foundation since its inception. There is not a child in our district who has not benefited from these grants in some way. Please look under our "projects" heading to see the many ways our money has been utilized for our children. This is your generosity at work.
Last year, the REF awarded funds through our annual grant process. These funds were used towards technology, essential classroom equipment and other needs at both Deane Porter and Forrestdale schools. These past and present appropriations are detailed on our website.
This year we will be raising funds to put back into our classrooms in the forms of cutting edge technology, new learning tools and equipment as well as artistic, athletic and educational needs. In these difficult economic times of state imposed budget caps, our public schools are in need of our support more than ever. Help us help our schools..get involved by donating, attending our events or volunteering this year.
